Compass Franklin

An award-winning data center achieves LEED Gold.

K2 Construction built Compass Nashville’s first stand-alone data center facility using Compass Nashville’s patent-pending “Truly Modular Architecture”. This LEED Gold data center provides 10,000 square feet of columnless raised floor space supported by 1.2 MW of electrical power with 2N power distribution. The project consisted of new construction of a 32,000 square foot hardened structure of an undeveloped seven-acre site. This project received the Tier III Certification of Design Documents Award from Uptime Institute, the most respected authority in the data center industry for design standards that deliver high performance and reliability.

Details

At the time of construction, this was the fastest built Tier 3 Certified Data Center in the United States from green field to occupancy in less than six months, despite rain delays during Nashville’s wettest winter to date. In addition to the aggressive schedule, large modular portions of the MEP systems were built in a factory in Texas and then shipped almost 650 miles to Tennessee.
